The first weekend is done
Alright, so the first weekend of recording is now complete and was a ton of fun! We accomplished quite a bit and we're really happy with everything. We put down drum tracks to 4 songs, and have begun dissecting each song in terms of bass, guitars, vocals etc! A big thank you to Max Figueredo who sat in on drums. If it weren't for Max we wouldn't have even been in the studio this weekend! We owe him a lot! Cheers!
Here are some videos from the weekend:

Alright, so big update!
Alright,
It's time for a more proper band update.
As I sit here on Thanksgiving weekend (in Canada) and reflect on all the things we have coming up, I can't believe how much work we have ahead of us, but it's all going to be well, well worth it.
1) The band: Although it's too soon to announce anything concrete, well that... and we like dragging out the suspense...we've been meeting various people around the city and Charles and I are pretty confident that we've met/found some cool people to be a part of this project! FINALLY! Again more announcements coming soon, but we can't wait.
2) The Record: Alright, so after several pints of Guiness, Steamwhistle... and yes even some shots of Tequila, Charles and I decided we're going to work towards a full length release! Yep, an LP! All professionally done up, packaged, the works. You want it on vinyl? Well... we'll probably get some vinyl pressed then! Who knows? At this point, the first thing is we're breaking ground in a week! We'll be working with Dean Watson at Gallery Recordings here in Ottawa. Dean did such a good job on The Rebel Year's last record that I was itching to work with him again. So we can't wait. Max will be tracking drums to 4 songs. Anyway, it's going to be a lot of fun, we're really pumped about it.
3) The Shows: So we decided early on that we were not going to do any full band shows until the record came out. That doesn't mean though that we're not playing at all though!!! We have some acoustic shows coming up in the Ottawa area:
October 19 - Zaphods
October 24 - Mavericks w/ Bruce Penninsula
November 27 - Mavericks - Algonquin College fundraiser
Toronto/Montreal et all... don't worry we're going to be coming your way in 2010. We're also going to be doing some runs down into the US as well.
So... there you go! An update!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Things blowing my mind
1) You hear about that Letterman thing? Where he admitted to having sex with people on his show?! Crazy!!!
2) This performance from the Verve at Glastonbury 2 years ago. I know they broke up but man!
